Joanne Estelle (Gruschow) Grade, 78, of Destin, FL formerly of South Dennis, MA, died peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017 with her husband at her side. Joanne was born and raised in Chicago, IL by her late parents Joseph and Lorraine (Lowes) Gruschow. She moved to The Cape settling in South Dennis 11 years ago before moving to Destin, FL less than 2 years ago.

Joanne Estelle (Gruschow) Grade, 78, of Destin, FL formerly of South Dennis, MA, died peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017 with her husband at her side. Joanne was born and raised in Chicago, IL by her late parents Joseph and Lorraine (Lowes) Gruschow. She moved to The Cape settling in South Dennis 11 years ago before moving to Destin, FL less than 2 years ago.

Before her retirement, Joanne was a comptroller for an engineering firm in Chicago, IL. She was an active member and past president of the local P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), Chapter AJ.

Joanne was also very active in the Cape Community, she was a member of the Dennis Village Garden Club, volunteer with Cape Cod Hospital and an Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster and secretary of the Ladies Guild.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband K. Dean Grade; her son David MacArthur, her daughter Laura O'Neill and her grandchildren William, Matthew, Emily and Mary-Kate. She also leaves behind numerous cherished friends and associates.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 23rd at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster, MA 02631 followed by private burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
